Dinner

Annual Dinner

This year's Annual Dinner will take place at Taunton Rugby Club, because the usual venue at the County Cricket Ground will be unavailable owing to redevelopment of the facilities. This means that the Dinner will be slightly later in the calendar than usual, taking place on SATURDAY 21st November 2009, at 6.00pm for 7.00pm.

The Guest Speaker will be Tony Davies who has been a great servant to cricket in Somerset, serving in various roles on the Somerset Cricket Board and is now head of Somerset’s Talent Identification Group. He is also a life long member of Taunton Cricket Club.

Dinner application forms can be obtained by emailing the Secratary at secretary@oldhuishassociation.co.uk.

Golf

Annual Golf Competition

Regrettably we can no longer run the competition as there have not been enough participants to justify the event. All golf venues require a minimum of 12 players to book a ‘golf day’ and there have only been half of this for the last few years.

The Fred Hutchings’ Shield will be passed to the College and will be played for in a Golf Academy Competition.

Annual Lunch

Annual Luncheon 2009

At this year's Luncheon  Norman White presented a cheque for £1,000 to Annabelle White of the Conquest Riding Centre for the Disabled at Norton Fitzwarren at the Annual Luncheon, this being the sum of money raised from Association raffle draws and from donations.

53 members and guests attended the event and the Chairman, David Gill, reported that the food was very good, the staff were very helpful and everyone had a very enjoyable time.
